GLADIATOR KEANO
“Are you not entertained?”
Roy Keane, the kind of player who stepped onto the pitch like it was life or death.
No theatrics. No rolling around looking for a whistle. When the ball was there to be won, Keane went for it.
If a challenge had to be made, he made it, like a gladiator stepping forward when everyone else hesitated.
You could see it in the way he carried himself. The clenched jaw. The hunter’s stare. The sense that the next challenge was already his before it even happened.
Keane didn’t play the game to be liked. He played it because losing was unthinkable.
If he was in the arena, everything was on the line.
And if you asked him why he played that way?
“That’s his job.”
